Frostburg State University's Children's Literature Centre has known Peter Catalanotto for nearly two decades. He has presented at the Spring Festival on Children's Literature on two occasions, and the Fall Author Series. Furthermore, I have had the privilege to watch him work with children many times. I have found Peter to be a superb presenter with the uncanny ability to adjust his presentation to his audience whether it is children of various ages, professional educators or caregivers. Students and adults alike will leave his presentation with an understanding of the writing and illustrating process. Personally, he is congenial, prompt in replying to requests and reliable. As one who has scheduled hundreds of author/illustrator visits, I consider these attributes most important. Finally, I could not recommend someone more highly than Peter. He is not only a true friend of the Centre, but I am lucky enough to consider him a personal friend.

Peter is polished and professional, humorous and heartwarming, delightful and dedicated--an absolute joy, no matter the age group! He is a joy to watch, listen to, and learn from. He is equally at ease with class room groups, professional conference attendees, and public library patrons. His straightforward style, gentle caring, and consummate professionalism endears him to everyone he meets. Peter, in person, is as charming, endearing, and insightful as his books are to readers.
